Our world has changed vastly in the last several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic; one of them is the school system and how students will work. Now that we have set up a proper system, there are many positive and negative situations. — filler intro
Many aspects of student life have been impacted negatively by the current global situation. The most negative part about being a student right now is that they cannot participate in any physical enjoyments and discussions. Students can no longer work alongside other students and must be restrained behind a laptop. They can no longer partake in experiments and cannot learn to safely use other chemicals. They must watch instead of do. In Physical Education, students can no longer play sports, but instead they have to learn about them. In Fine Arts, students can no longer practice their art together, but instead they have to listen.
However, certain areas of student life have seen great benefits and improvements. The most positive part of being a student is that they are in a safe and quiet area. With the focus on, and only on, the teacher during a virtual classroom, it can be found that focusing on the material on hand is vastly easier with external distractions out of the picture. Furthermore, most students can appreciate the ability to be able to learn distraction-free within the comforts of their own home. With elements such as unexpected events and social tensions out of the picture in a home-based learning environment, students can focus on what really matters.
